Paul Benton joins the team as Strength & Conditioning Coach

The Roughnecks are delighted to announce the addition of Paul Benton to the coaching staff following a meeting with both coaches and the general manager last week. Paul will join the team with a view to improving the team's strength and aiding in injury prevention. Paul is the owner of The Asylum Strength & Conditioning in Lawrencekirk, and has been competing for four years now, boasting third place finishes in Scotland's Strongest Man competition for the past two years and 4th in the UK's Strongest Man competition in 2016 and won qualification for a professional event by winning UK Bodypower 2017. Paul has been running The Asylum Strength & Conditioning for 2 and a half years now and is looking forward to joining the team.

Defensive Co-ordinator Bryce Stevenson added:

"We're looking forward to working alongside Paul, and we believe that his addition to the staff will help us move forward with our vision for the club. We sat down with Paul last week and we're very excited about the ideas that were brought to the table, not only in improving the levels of athleticism and strength with programmes tailored to the team's needs, but through Paul's knowledge of injury prevention and body preparation"

Paul will join the staff immediately, and set to work prior to our clash against the second placed Dumfries Hunters.
